MONTHLY WALKSI have started organising a monthly walk usually on the fourth Friday of the month, though this arrangement will be reviewed later in the year and the day might change. So far we have been able to do the January and February walks in lovely weather would you believe? In January we did a circular walk from Morthoe to Morte Point and Bull Point and in February from Lynton to Watersmeet, Countisbury and back down the coastal path. It is good exercise in good company.
This is not particularly a URC church walk, it is for anybody, but most people at present are from the church or associated with it, I will continue to put the details of future walks in the notices therefore. In the winter months we will try to include a pub lunch and in the summer a picnic will enable us to go on walks a bit further from civilisation.
Please let me know if you are interested and book your diaries. A good pair of boots is essential in the winter to cope with the muddy conditions.
If you have a favourite walk, let me know and we will include it in the itinerary. Most walks will be around 4 to 6 miles to begin with and in the summer we will include the odd more ambitious one.
Any suggestions for a name for this group? I used to organise a group called The Wednesday Walkers, but Friday doesn’t really lend itself and in any case, we might change the day.
