We pray for those we dislike - traffic wardens, taxmen, and politicians who represent views other than our own. Give us all understanding and compassion Lord. We pray for those newly arrived in this country who do not share our culture or language. Help us to be supportive friends to those who are our neighbours.

We think of those who desperately want to work but cannot. We also think of their families. May we understand that God has work for us and a place for us even if man does not. May your Kingdom come O God.

We pray for the homeless and the destitute. May those who are able, answer the call to provide shelter and the essentials of a decent life. Help us to help each other Lord. Be always in our hearts so that it is you who speaks when we meet those who call upon us and not the spirit of fear and selfishness. May we be true witnesses for Thee.

We bring to Thee the needs of those especially known to us. Give us wisdom and strengthen us with your spirit so that we may be Your ministers. We ask all these things in the name and for the sake of Thy Son.
