We remember the elderly. Those not as agile as they used to be. Those whose families live far away. Those who cannot see very well and, having lost their looks, do not enjoy being seen. By our witness may they feel part of your extended family.

OLD AND ALONE

When twilight comes and falling fast
The evening of our year, 'tis passed
The time when friendly faces filled
Each moment that our bodies willed.

Alone beside a dying fire
We feel our very souls expire
Our bodies old, they cannot bare
Our spirits from our cripples chair.

No friendly face or happy talk
Is part of our domestic walk
The same four walls we see each day
For life has passed another way.
